Pictures by Omani photographers and information boards provided an insight into the beauty of the landscape, historical buildings, the history and development of Oman.
On 18 November 2006, Mayor Dr Eva Lohse opened the exhibition in the presence and with greetings from H.E. the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Germany, Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthy, and the President of the German-Omani Society, Mr Friedhelm Jost.V. Mr Friedhelm Jost opened the photo exhibition „The Sultanate of Oman – Tradition and Nature of the Legend of the Gulf“, at the VHS Ludwigshafen.
With more than 300 participants, the opening of the exhibition met with overwhelming interest and a very positive response throughout.

Ludwigshafen was the first of 11 exhibition venues for this second travelling exhibition. The project ended in May 2008 with an exhibition at the VHS Aachen.
Accompanying the exhibitions were lectures by Georg Popp and Alex Moll, who realised this project on behalf of the Diwan of Royal Court.
