The location of the luxuriously equipped Alila Hinu Bay Mirbat is perfect if you are a nature lover looking for peace and quiet.
It is secluded just past the village of Mirbat on an unspoilt and natural stretch of coastline between the open sea and a lagoon. The lagoon can be explored with small pedal boats and water birds can be observed. The hotel's own sandy beach lies on a bay framed by rocks and is therefore protected from strong seas. Ideal for snorkelling and swimming.
The comfortable air-conditioned rooms are loosely distributed as bungalows at ground level on a large area and face either the sea or the lagoon. They are equipped with an electric kettle, a Jacuzzi and a desk. Fortunately, the garden design with grasses, cacti and succulents does not attempt to plant English lawns in the desert.
Apart from the quiet location, the excellent food and the friendly and helpful staff deserve special mention.
The Alila Hinu Bay Mirbat has two beautiful outdoor pools as well as its own beach area.
The hotel is about an hour's drive from Salalah. Worthwhile destinations for excursions by car are, besides Salalah, the Wadi Darbat, the fortress of Taqa and also a trip to the Djebel Samhan, the highest mountain in South Oman with spectacular views. Also worthwhile is a drive along the scenic coastal road eastwards to Sadah and Hasik.
