Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Al Waha is next to the same rocky bay as the adjacent Shangri La Al Bandar Hotel. It has a total of 302 rooms. Beach, garden and pool facilities are shared.
In 19 restaurants you can taste specialties from South America, Italy, Spain, Morocco and of course Oman. From a casual family restaurant to fast food and elegant dinners, everything is on offer. A seafood restaurant on the beach completes the offer.
Sports and fitness enthusiasts are also catered to, with a fitness center, 4 tennis courts, beach volleyball, diving school, water aerobics, windsurfing, boat rental, 3 swimming pools (two of which are connected by a 250 meter long "Lazy River"), direct beach access. In Shangri-La's own "Chi-Spa" you can be pampered in one of the 12 treatment rooms by the trained staff as well as with sauna, steam bath, whirlpool.
The complex also includes an amphitheater and a souk with numerous shops. Between the hotels is the "Piazza" where you can stroll comfortably and visit shops and restaurants.
The professionally run Kids Club awaits the younger guests with their own children's pool and play areas. Family-friendly catering is also provided.
The historic districts of the capital Muscat can be reached in about 20 minutes by car. To reach the Royal Opera House or the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque you should expect a 50 minutes' drive.
