Oman Vision 2020-2040

Oman Vision 2040 is the national reference for economic and social planning for the period 2021-2040 and the basis for national
sector strategies and five-year development plans.

In order to strengthen the role of the various sectors of Omani society in building the country's future, the development of Oman Vision 2040 has followed a participatory approach, with people from different parts of Oman contributing their views and input at various stages of development.

It targeted the public and private sectors, civil society institutions, community councils, academic institutions, women, youth, media professionals, people with special needs, university students and schoolchildren, and migrant workers.

In total, more than 41,000 members of society participated in the development of Oman Vision 2040.

The four pillars of Oman Vision 2040 are:

- A society of creative people who are proud of their identity, innovative and globally competitive, living a dignified life and enjoying sustainable well-being. A world-leading society in mutual understanding, coexistence and peace.
- A competitive, productive, and diversified economy based on innovation, integration of roles, and equal opportunities, driven by the
private sector, which achieves comprehensive and sustainable development
- Responsible and efficient government authorities with comprehensive governance, effective oversight, and a swift justice system
- A sustainable environment with effective and balanced ecosystems and renewable resources
