Georg Popp studied art education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Prof Dr Zacharias and at the University of Augsburg. This was followed by various teaching positions at these institutions.
Since 1992, his work has focussed on artistic works, publications, exhibitions and film projects in the context of the Sultanate of Oman. Of particular importance to him was the development of an Omani colour system and the implementation of traditional ornaments in the internationally award-winning computer font "Sindbad".
