Jebel Samhan - the highest mountain in southern Oman

The almost 2000 metre high Djebel Samhan massif is one of the country's most important nature reserves. It extends over an area of 4500 square kilometres and is home to the last mountain leopards in Arabia.

Itenerary

A winding road leads to a high plateau and a small hotel on the edge of Jebel Samhan. Those staying here have the opportunity to experience an impressive sunset and sunrise. Often the clouds drifting in from the sea rise slowly from the mountain massif, which slopes steeply down to the coastal plain. The warm, soft light contrasts magically with the cool shadows over the sea, the mountain slopes form silhouettes like scissor cuts.
