The computer font "Sindbad"

The computer font "Sindbad" by Georg Popp was awarded first prize in the symbol font category at the "2nd International Type Design Contest" organised by the computer design magazine PAGE and the LINOTYPE Library in 1997. It implements Omani/Arabic design elements in a computer font.

Jury member Adrian Frutiger on "Sindbad" in the magazine PAGE 06/97:

"The Sindbad is a game with large shapes from which very beautiful ornaments, lists and so on can be made, but which - like embroidery - suddenly turn into pictures that can be put together to form colourful ornaments."
