Oman pursues an active peace policy in the Middle East region and is an oasis of peace and security thanks to its long-standing political behaviour as a neutral state. From this position, the religiously independent sultanate has always acted as a mediator on the Arabian Peninsula and is not only respected and recognised in this role by all states in the region - but worldwide. Omani diplomats regularly mediate in disputes between Arab and Western states with Iran - most recently between the USA and Iran;

Crime in Oman is negligible. The country is politically stable. There is a broad middle class, which contributes to social stability.
