Seeb / Sib - lively marketplace and airport

Seeb, originally a small fishing village, is now part of the Capital Area and a lively suburb. Muscat Airport is located here.

The centre of Seeb, about 5 km west of the airport, is a lively marketplace and bustling shopping district. This spreads out between the thoroughfare and the coast. In addition to small restaurants and snack bars, you can find everything you need for the kitchen and household in large and small shops. Art prints, plastic reliefs made in China and, of course, portraits of Sultan Qaboos and Sultan Haitham can also be purchased there. The fish, meat and vegetable market stalls are particularly busy in the evening and on Friday mornings.

Several new residential areas and shopping centres are being built adjacent to Seeb. The Mall of Oman is well worth a detour. In addition to the usual stores, there is also the huge Oman Aquarium", which offers impressive insights into the underwater animal world with rays, sharks and turtles (admission charge applies).

&p>The corniche on the coast of Seeb back towards Muscat takes you to the new development Al Mouj (The Wave).
