Oman, of course, has a number of classic sights, some real highlights that should be planned to visit depending on the time and itinerary. The most important of these are listed under this chapter.
Oman's culture, however, lacks all pretentiousness and loudness; there is not the tallest skyscraper or the most expensive necklace to marvel at. Oman means: seeing colours, breathing in fragrances, sensing horizons, physically experiencing extreme contrasts, seemingly losing yourself in endless, even archaic landscapes and, in any case, experiencing friendly people.
So if you move around the country with your senses alert, don't keep your travel schedule too tight, make time for a chat and take the seemingly trivial things in life in your stride, you will leave the country full of unforgettable impressions.
