These animal auctions are not only held in Nizwa, but also in many other places in the country. In Ibri, for example, there is an animal auction every day and if you prefer to be alone with the locals as a tourist, we recommend switching to other places.

The Friday market in Bahla is unfairly overshadowed by Nizwa. The newly renovated old souq in Bahla is beautifully atmospheric, and the traditional potteries are well worth a visit.
