The Sultanate of Oman breaks many preconceptions about the Arab world. It fascinates not only with its unexpected landscape diversity, but also with its cultural diversity, which reflects its millennia-old trading tradition.

The self-confidence that has grown out of this has led to political and religious independence for society, which is the basis for the Sultanate's special position in today's Arab world.

The landscapes of the Sultanate of Oman are surprisingly diverse: deep fjords in Musandam, geological diversity in the Hadjar Mountains, the endless sand dunes of the Rub al-Khali, the tropical green Dhofar in summer, the plantations of the Batinah coast, and the modern capital Muscat.
