The Misfat Old House, Misfat Al Abriyeen

Lovingly renovated, situated right in the heart of the ancient mud-brick village of Misfat Al Abriyeen, a mountain oasis.

The guesthouse is situated in the heart of the ancient mud-brick village of Misfat Al Abriyeen, above Al Hamra, not far from Bahla and Nizwa, at the foot of Jebel Shams, and is run by the dedicated Al Abri family, who are locals to the area.

The atmosphere, particularly in the evening when all guests are served traditional local food on the guesthouse terrace, overlooking the gorge with its lovingly tended and well-preserved terraced fields, brings to life many a dream of ancient Arabia. The rooms have been kept in their original style, reflecting Oman’s traditional way of life, and are lovingly decorated with local handicrafts.

There are only a few rooms at Misfat Old House with en-suite bathrooms; all other rooms have access to shared showers and toilets.
