The location of the luxuriously appointed Alila Hinu Bay Mirbat is perfect if, as a nature lover, you are seeking peace and relaxation.
Alila Hinu Bay Mirbat is situated in a secluded spot just beyond the village of Mirbat, on an unspoilt stretch of coastline between the open sea and a lagoon. You can explore the lagoon in small pedalos and watch waterbirds. The hotel’s own sandy beach lies in a bay framed by rocks and is therefore sheltered from rough seas. Ideal for snorkelling and swimming.
The comfortable, air-conditioned rooms are laid out as single-storey bungalows, spaciously distributed across a large area, and face either the sea or the lagoon. They are equipped with a kettle, a whirlpool bath and a desk. Fortunately, the garden design – featuring grasses, cacti and succulents – has avoided the attempt to plant an English-style lawn in the desert.
In addition to the peaceful setting, the excellent food and the friendly, helpful staff are particularly worth highlighting.
As well as the beach, Alila Hinu Bay Mirbat also boasts two beautiful outdoor swimming pools.
The hotel is about an hour’s drive from Salalah. Destinations worth visiting on day trips by hire car include, alongside Salalah, Wadi Darbat, Taqa Fort and a drive up Jebel Samhan, the highest mountain in southern Oman, which offers spectacular views. Also well worth a visit is a drive along the scenic coastal road eastwards to Sadah and Hasik.
