This Bedouin-run camp, made up of palm-frond huts, is located about 20 kilometers deep in the Wahiba Desert at the end of a dune valley.
If you really want to experience the Sharquiya/Wahiba Desert, the Nomadic Desert Camp is the perfect place for you. The camp was built and is run by a Bedouin family who also lives just a few dune valleys away. There is no electricity, but in return, you’ll enjoy a perfect view of the starry night sky.
Guests stay in huts made of palm fronds. Palm-frond huts are the ideal architectural design for this climate region. The camp has shared showers and restrooms.
The overnight rate includes transportation to and from the main road at the edge of the desert, as well as an Omani dinner and breakfast.
Upon request and with advance registration, you can also take a camel ride into the desert (additional charge!).
During the summer months (June–September), the camp is closed due to the extreme heat.
